Platform Information

• Controller: V2R4 and later 4690OS, CSF V2 and V3
• Terminals: Terminals that run 4690 OS V2R4 and later
• Lan types: Loop, Ethernet, token ring (all terminal monitoring not available on Loop by default).
• No application changes required
• Minimal terminal and controller memory requirements (TBD but 100KB/250KB term, 3MB on the controller is rough idea)

Positioning

• InSight extends 4690 OS at the terminal and the controller with features available in many of today’s non-proprietary OS environments. Version 1 enables access to management information and remote monitoring and control of terminals. Future versions may allow additional inter-operability with outside systems, improved performance of the 4690 controller, and more capable diagnostic and performance analysis system services.
