Overview - Brief Description of Feature

InSight is currently a system extension and management product that is not integrated with other open management standards.  Its features are accessible directly on the store controllers or from applications written on top of InSight's Management APIs.  One of InSight's original design points was to make it integrate with other management standards including SNMP, JMX, WBEM or Microsoft's SCOM (formerly MOM).  These features provide that integration.

Problem - What Problem Does the Feature Solve?

InSight provides features and access to system information not available from existing operating systems or other software.  Customers are interested in bringing their store systems, including all of their controllers and POS terminals, into their larger corporate managed systems.

Solution - Short Description of How the Feature Works

These features have not yet been devleoped.  At this time, there appears to be more interest than actual deployment and InSight's implementations of these features will be customer-driven.  These features are included in our big picture product features chart because the interest level is consistent and integration with one or more management platforms is something that QVS would like to review with customers.
